Is that Robert Fisk?
Arriving. Heathrow. T3?
Yes, it looks like him…
West Fifty Eighth Street,
near the park. Sal grabs me, points:
It’s Willem Dafoe!
Our friend, thinks he saw
Yoko, but we were not there.
We don’t believe him
Times Square. They’re filming.
Action Sequence, top of bus.
Familiar guy. Who?
Coincidentally, there are some good descriptions of Fisk in the excellent book I’m currently reading, which describes him as “a chronic war-junkie”, who is in his element in Lebanon (just after the civil war) “like an overexcited trainspotter let loose in the sidings at Crewe”
Was it Kiefer Sutherland?
p.s. your haikus are much better than Lou Rhodes’s, bless her. She hasn’t quite got the 5-7-5 thing sorted yet: http://www.infinitebloom.com (follow the ‘haikus’ link)
Keifer? I don’t think so. You can’t really tell from my photo, but the “sleb” is the guy in the Matador costume on the top of the bus.
As we passed they were strapping him down to the top of the bus so he could lean over the side.
I think it’s the filming of a christmas special ‘My Hero…Goes to New York’ and the guy on the bus is Ardal O’Hanlon.
Sadly, no. A bit of lunchtime Googling reveals that it is in fact a forthcoming Disney film called Enchanted.
The chap on the top of the bus turns out to be called James Marsden.
